Yaz Ellis - SETAC Vienna - Plenary Keynote

Plenary Speaker - Vienna - May 2025

I was honoured at the invitatation to be a Plenary Speaker at SETAC's Europe Conference. Through my keynote 'Surviving the City: The Impact of Urbanisation on Vienna's Wildlife', I shared my observations, films and stories on the remarkable wildlife of Vienna. Focusing in particular on the species I specialise in -  beavers, hamsters and ground squirrels. It was a real joy to share my passion to a wonderful audience of 800+ scientists from around the world and to receive such positive feedback!

On-Screen Contributor - Scotland: The Big Picture - May 2024

For Scotland: The Big Picture's feature documentary, I featured onscreen, showing Flo the European Beavers that live and thrive in Vienna. I also discussed the city's conservation measures to ensure humans and beavers can co-exist.

Mum, I'm on TV! It was so exciting to have been featured on-screen whilst filming magical starling murmurations. Alongside fellow camerawoman Katie Wardle (who is absolutely wonderful!) and presenter Matt Baker. I had so much fun and was very grateful for this opportunity to represent the wildlife camerawomen community on screen.
