Wild Vienna
Directed by Martin Mészáros | Primary Cinematography by Yaz Ellis | Terra Mater Studios | Servus TV | 52 minutes
Vienna – city of music and dreams. Millions of visitors arrive each year to soak up the atmosphere of this magical city. But there is a secret Vienna – one the tourists rarely see. Hidden in the nooks and crannies of imperial palaces, ancient churches and magnificent gardens … other worlds exist.
After 2+ years of running across the whole of Vienna, to film the remarkable wildlife of this capital city for Terra Mater's natural history production, Wild Vienna is out now and available to watch on Servus TV until 27. December.

Filming wildife throughout the seasons, in the city I call home, was a delight! Some personal filming highlights for me included:
-
Filming hamsters mating on camera (the only time I have witnessed it in 4 years of filming hamsters)
-
Ground Squirrels stealing from the bags of visitors at a bathing lake
-
The rabbits who have made a special home next to railway tracks
-
Toad migrations and rescuing them before they cross busy roads at night
-
A very special butterfly meadow which is overshadowed by skyscrapers - a true urban wildlife oasis!
